You can manage access, edit description of your own files. You cannot manage access to files you don’t own.

As for the files uploaded by other users (“for me” tab) you can only see:

  • size;

  • download link;

  • upload date;

  • SHA1 checksum;

  • description (if any).

For granting permission for other users to download your files see section "Managing access to files"

All your uploaded files have the following properties:

Description

Any information which you want to be visible for other users except anonymous users

Main screen

Main screen shows you two tabs with file lists. On the tab “my” your uploaded files are shown. On the tab “for me” there are the files which are uploaded by other users and the permission to download these files is granted to you. Detailed information about any file is available by clicking “more” icon.

From the main screen you can:

  • upload files;

  • download files;

  • delete your own files;

  • grant permission to download for other users or groups (only for power users).

Uploading files

You can upload up to 5 files simultaneously. To upload files click on the link in the dotted box in the upload area or drag and drop files to upload area. After adding file or files uploading dialog box appears. You can select more files to upload by clicking “Select more” button or start uploading. Any information and uploading status will be displayed in the dialog box.

Managing access to own files

Managing access for file is made on “Access control” tab in the file properties dialog.(screen)

Access to files can be managed in the following ways:

  • manually (setting or unsetting property “active”);

  • limiting by date and time;

  • limiting by number of downloads;

  • giving access to certain users/groups;

  • giving public access for anonymous users;

  • by the combination of any of the above options;

All these settings can be mixed in any combination. If several restrictions are set, the first restriction which satisfies the condition will block access to the file. For example if you give access to users Alice and Bob and set download limit to 5 downloads the file will be available only for users Alice and Bob and for 5 downloads for both of them. If the number of downloads achieve 5, then the file will not be available for Alice and Bob.
